Handyman Alpharetta – Proper Installation of Lights
Have the right tools
You need to have the right tools such as screw driver, wire stripper, safety googles and protective gloves.
Turn off electricity
The first thing you need to do is to turn off the electricity at the junction box. Switch off the circuit breakers.
Remove old fixture
Start by unscrewing the old fixture and once free, lower it to expose the electrical wires. Unscrew the wires from the connector.
Connect new fixture
Start by matching the wires to the right connector in your new lights. When connecting ensure that the neutral, live and earth connections are positioned in their right location. This is because electricity is distributed in your home via three different wires to ensure protection and efficient operation. You can expose the wire at the ends using a wire stripper.
Mount the lights
Once you have inspected and ensured that all wires are connected and screwed in properly, it’s time to mount the lights to its final position. You can screw it in on its side. To ensure that no injuries occur, you need to have someone holding it for you. Test by switching it on.
